FOSE, Washington, DC – May 2, 2008 – Omnitron Systems Technology, a provider of fiber optic access systems for next-generation optical Ethernet networks, today announced new extended temperature ranges for its popular iConverter family of intelligent media converters and Network Interface Devices (NIDs). iConverter products now support a wide temperature range of -40º to +60º Celsius for mission-critical reliability in harsh temperature environments, and select products support an extended temperature range of -40º to +75º Celsius.

The iConverter X21 transmits serial data over fiber optic cabling that extends network links up to 120 kilometers.

The iConverter portfolio of fiber media converters and network interface devices consists of modular converters and chassis that combine to provide a variety of configurations for central office and customer premises fiber deployments.
