The iConverter 10GXX is a 100M/1G SFP fiber to 1G/10G SFP/SFP+ rate-switching fiber media converter. The 10GXX supports 100BASE-X or 1000BASE-X and 1000BASE-X or 10GBASE-R Small Form Pluggable transceivers.

The 100M/1G SFP transceiver port supports autonegotiation.

The iConverter 10GXX supports frame sizes from 64 bytes to 10,240 bytes and supports a variety of Link Modes to facilitate quick fault detection, isolation, and reporting.

The media converters support a variety of copper and fiber SFP transceivers. They support 10/100/1000BASE-T and 1000BASE-T copper transceivers and 100M, 1G and 10G multimode or single-mode fiber, dual or single-fiber transceivers in standard, CWDM and DWDM wavelengths.

The SFP+ transceiver port supports multi-gigabit 100M/1G/2.5G/5G/10GBASE-T transceivers.

The compact standalone media converters can be tabletop mounted, wall mounted, or DIN-rail mounted using an optional DIN-rail mounting clip (8251-0). They can also be mounted on a 1U 19” rack-mount shelf. They are available with DC input power via terminal connector or an external 100 to 240VAC power adapter.

In this application example, the 10GXX media converters are deployed in a star topology network with fiber links distributed from a central location.

At Building A, a 10G fiber switch is providing multiple fiber links to the remote buildings.

At Building B and C, the iConverter 10GXT media converters provide a 1G fiber connection to a gigabit Ethernet switch in the building.

The media converters support Link Modes used to provide network notification of fiber faults. Link failures on any port are propagated to managed network switches, notifying network administrators of link failure.
