New iConverter Provides Flexible Fiber Network Evolution

iConverter STM-1 IRVINE, CA – April 14, 2009 Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com), a provider of Carrier Ethernet demarcation devices and media converters, today announced the availability of the new iConverter® XG 10 Gigabit media converter.  The iConverter XG is a protocol-transparent media converter with two pluggable transceiver ports designed to simplify fiber connectivity for Ethernet and TDM networks by providing 10 Gigabit media conversion and fiber extension.  The iConverter XG functions as a copper-to-fiber converter, a fiber mode converter, a fiber repeater and a Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) transponder.  The product supports 100% traffic throughput and has no packet size restrictions. It is protocol transparent within the range of 9.95Gbps to 11.32Gbps, providing interoperability with common protocols including 10G Ethernet, 10G SONET/SDH, 10G Fiber Channel and 10G OTN (G.709).

Irvine, CA – March 9, 2009 Omnitron Systems Technology, a provider of fiber optic access systems for enterprise and telecom networks, today announced the availability of the iConverter® 4xT1/E1 MUX. The 4xT1/E1 MUX is a 4-port multiplexer that aggregates up to four independent T1/E1 channels from copper links onto a fiber optic link, and is the newest member of the popular iConverter fiber access platform. The iConverter 4xT1/E1 MUX extends T1/E1 loops over fiber, reducing the number of costly loop repeaters. Unlike T1/E1 fiber extenders, the 4xT1/E1 MUX eliminates the requirement that each channel have its own fiber link.

iConverter STM-1 IRVINE, CA – February 10, 2009 Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com), a provider of fiber optic access systems for enterprise and telecom networks, today announced the availability of the iConverter® STM-1 copper-to-fiber media converter.  The iConverter STM1 converts the electrical signals from an STM-1 or OC-3 75? coax cable to optical signals on fiber.  Ideal for telecom and enterprise applications where STM-1 or OC-3 transport is required beyond the limited distance of coax, the iConverter STM-1 transmits signals up to five kilometers on multimode fiber and up to 120 kilometers on single-mode fiber.

Irvine, CA – December 18, 2008 Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com), a provider of fiber optic access systems for next-generation Carrier Ethernet networks, today announced the latest additions to its iConverter® Network Interface Device (NID) portfolio. The new iConverter GM3 NIDs are carrier-grade, Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) 9 and 14 certified compliant solutions designed for fiber optic service demarcation in telecom, cable and utility networks.
