Omnitron in the News

Irvine, CA – September 23, 2013 - Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com) a leading provider of fiber access products for Carrier Ethernet business services and mobile backhaul, today announced that Local Backhaul Networks (www.LocalBackhaul.com) has integrated the iConverter® GM4 Network Interface Device (NID) into OcularIP. The iConverter GM4 NID provides Carrier Ethernet 2.0 service demarcation with comprehensive support for SLA performance monitoring and fault management capabilities.

OcularIP is the industry's leading IP circuit performance monitoring and SLA assurance portal. This powerful system leverages industry standards, enabling service providers to accurately monitor Carrier Ethernet performance trends with true end-to-end circuit visibility, and easily report Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics at minimal cost. OcularIP's customizable screen builder and report generator meet the reporting and portal requirements of Tier1 cell providers. OcularIP provides extensive insight into users' Quality of Experience; reducing trouble tickets, dispatches and service breaches.

"The OcularIP integration with iConverter NIDs simplifies the monitoring of complex network infrastructure, yet still provides detailed granularity and performance analysis," said Rammy Bahalul, Vice President of Marketing for Omnitron Systems. "With this powerful product integration, service providers can now deliver value-added and revenue-generating performance metrics for both retail and wholesale services."

"Local Backhaul continues to provide the market with innovative proactive service assurance solutions that enhance operational excellence," said Robert Kittner, Vice President of Sales at Local Backhaul Networks. "The addition of the Omnitron iConverter NID to the OcularIP portfolio gives service providers additional options to provide SLAs and present detailed metrics to all stakeholders."

About iConverter GM4 NIDs

iConverter GM4 NIDs provide tools for optimizing service delivery of Carrier Ethernet 2.0 services with FCAPS management through Omnitron's NetOutlook® EMS. Support for Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) enables rapid service deployments and built-in RFC 2544 and Y.1564 test heads remotely validate the integrity and SLA metrics of the end-to-end service. IEEE 802.1ag Connectivity Fault Management and ITU-T Y.1731 Performance Monitoring OAM probes measure a variety of real-time SLA parameters, including periodic and historical measures of delay, delay variation, frame loss and availability. The iConverter GM4 supports ITU-T G.8031 and G.8032 protection switching for mission-critical services. In the event of a network fault, the iConverter GM4 provides proactive instant notification and comprehensive, standards-based fault management tools to facilitate remote fault isolation and troubleshooting.
