New iConverter Provides Flexible Fiber Network Evolution

iConverter STM-1 IRVINE, CA – April 14, 2009 Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com), a provider of Carrier Ethernet demarcation devices and media converters, today announced the availability of the new iConverter® XG 10 Gigabit media converter.  The iConverter XG is a protocol-transparent media converter with two pluggable transceiver ports designed to simplify fiber connectivity for Ethernet and TDM networks by providing 10 Gigabit media conversion and fiber extension.  The iConverter XG functions as a copper-to-fiber converter, a fiber mode converter, a fiber repeater and a Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) transponder.  The product supports 100% traffic throughput and has no packet size restrictions. It is protocol transparent within the range of 9.95Gbps to 11.32Gbps, providing interoperability with common protocols including 10G Ethernet, 10G SONET/SDH, 10G Fiber Channel and 10G OTN (G.709).

Irvine, CA – March 9, 2009 Omnitron Systems Technology, a provider of fiber optic access systems for enterprise and telecom networks, today announced the availability of the iConverter® 4xT1/E1 MUX. The 4xT1/E1 MUX is a 4-port multiplexer that aggregates up to four independent T1/E1 channels from copper links onto a fiber optic link, and is the newest member of the popular iConverter fiber access platform. The iConverter 4xT1/E1 MUX extends T1/E1 loops over fiber, reducing the number of costly loop repeaters. Unlike T1/E1 fiber extenders, the 4xT1/E1 MUX eliminates the requirement that each channel have its own fiber link.

iConverter STM-1 IRVINE, CA – February 10, 2009 Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com), a provider of fiber optic access systems for enterprise and telecom networks, today announced the availability of the iConverter® STM-1 copper-to-fiber media converter.  The iConverter STM1 converts the electrical signals from an STM-1 or OC-3 75? coax cable to optical signals on fiber.  Ideal for telecom and enterprise applications where STM-1 or OC-3 transport is required beyond the limited distance of coax, the iConverter STM-1 transmits signals up to five kilometers on multimode fiber and up to 120 kilometers on single-mode fiber.

Irvine, CA – December 18, 2008 Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com), a provider of fiber optic access systems for next-generation Carrier Ethernet networks, today announced the latest additions to its iConverter® Network Interface Device (NID) portfolio. The new iConverter GM3 NIDs are carrier-grade, Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) 9 and 14 certified compliant solutions designed for fiber optic service demarcation in telecom, cable and utility networks.

Irvine, CA – November 17, 2008 Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com), a leading provider of fiber optic subsystems for government and carrier Ethernet networks, today announced that it is the recipient of the Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) Supplier Excellence Award. This award recognizes Omnitron as one of sixty one of Raytheon’s IDS exemplary performing suppliers in 2008. Raytheon recognizes its suppliers based on three important factors: on-time delivery measures, sustained performance on quality and commitment to continuous process and quality improvement.

Omnitron dramatically increases CWDM rack space efficiency

Irvine, CA – October 13, 2008 Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com), a provider of fiber optic access systems for next-generation Carrier Ethernet networks, today announced the addition of new Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) and Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (OADM) products to its MEF certified iConverter® product family. These new modules install conveniently in any iConverter chassis alongside other iConverter products, occupy a minimal amount of rack space, and provide some of the highest port densities in the industry.

Irvine, CA – September29, 2008 Omnitron Systems Technology (www.omnitron-systems.com), a provider of fiber optic access systems for next-generation Ethernet networks, today announced the launch of the cost-effective miConverter GX/T, a 1000BASE-X Fiber to 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet media converter. The new miConverter GX/T is the first miniature unmanaged media converter that supports Gigabit jumbo frames up to 10,240 bytes. As newer IP networks move towards using Jumbo frames to reduce network overhead and to reduce CPU utilization, the miConverter GX/T provides unmatched performance and affordability for what previously was exclusive to expensive Ethernet equipment.

Irvine, CA – July 21, 2008 Omnitron Systems Technology (www.omnitron-systems.com), a provider of media converters and Carrier Ethernet demarcation devices, today announced the “Solaris Ready” certification and compatibility of their iConverter® products with Sun Microsystems. The Solaris Ready Program allows Sun Microsystems customers to easily identify third-party solutions with proven interoperability with the Solaris Operating System on SPARC and x86/x64 based server platforms. Implementation of the Solaris Ready certification ensures that the iConverter products have met the testing requirements of the Solaris Ready Program for system compatibility, interoperability, and ease-of-installation.
