Omnitron and Cyan Integrate iConverter NIDs into Ethernet Service Portal
Irvine, CA – July 10, 2012 – Omnitron Systems, (www.omnitron-systems.com) a provider of fiber access products for Carrier Ethernet business services and mobile backhaul, today announced that Omnitron and Cyan have completed integration of the iConverter GM4 Network Interface Device (NID) into CyPortal. The iConverter GM4 NID provides comprehensive support for the IEEE 802.1ag and ITU-T Y.1731 standards for industry-leading interoperability and SLA performance monitoring capabilities.
Cyan’s CyPortal is the SLA assurance and customer portal component of the Cyan 360 software-defined operations systems. CyPortal rolls up key SLA performance metrics from industry leading demarcation devices such as the Omnitron iConverter NID, and correlates the performance data with individual customer services. The performance data is provided in a customer-oriented view that presents detailed SLA reporting for key Ethernet service quality parameters such as availability, delay, jitter, throughput and packet loss across multi-vendor networks.
“One of the key attributes of CyPortal is the ability to provide uniform SLA performance reporting and customer portal services across heterogeneous networks using a variety of products from industry leading vendors. The addition of the Omnitron iConverter NID to the solution portfolio gives service providers powerful new options to innovate and expand their SLA assurance services”, said Frank Wiener, Vice President of Marketing for Cyan.
“The CyPortal integration enables Service Providers to leverage the SLA monitoring capabilities of iConverter NIDs with real-time visibility into customer-specific services. Service providers can provide value-added performance metrics for both retail and wholesale services with this powerful product partnership,” said Rammy Bahalul, Vice President of Marketing for Omnitron Systems.
About iConverter NIDs
iConverter GM4 NIDs provide tools for optimizing service delivery and managing the customer experience throughout the life cycle of an Ethernet service. Network management combined with Service OAM provides higher perceived service quality and workforce productivity, rapid outage restoration, fewer reported problems and greater customer satisfaction. Support for Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) enables rapid and accurate service deployments, and built-in RFC 2544 and Y.1564 test heads remotely validate the integrity and SLA metrics of the end-to-end service. IEEE 802.1ag Connectivity Fault Management and ITU-T Y.1731 Performance Monitoring OAM probes measure a variety of SLA parameters, including periodic and historical measures of delay, delay variation, frame loss and availability. In the event of a network fault, the iConverter GM4 provides instant notification and comprehensive, standards-based fault management tools to facilitate remote fault isolation and troubleshooting. The iConverter GM4 also supports ITU-T G.8031 and Rapid Spanning Tree service protection features to minimize service down time.
CyPortal is a multi-layer, multi-vendor SLA assurance and customer portal Software as a Service (SaaS) component of the Cyan 360 software-defined operations systems. CyPortal is currently used by Ethernet, IP and ATM service providers to monitor more than 20,000 wireless backhaul and business service endpoints for service providers globally. CyPortal gives service providers powerful insight into the performance of their services from their wholesale and end-customer’s perspective. This customer centric perspective provides real-time and historical information which empowers customer service organizations to identify and resolve potential SLA impacting situations before customer satisfaction is impacted. Service providers can also extend CyPortal access to their customers to provide web-based, real-time and historic SLA performance visibility of key metrics. CyPortal’s cloud hosted SaaS model makes it easy for service providers to select, deploy and operationalize SLA assurance services in as little as two weeks, with no long term upfront financial commitments.
