Omnitron’s Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Certified NIDs Simplify Wholesale Ethernet Services
COMPTEL Plus, Las Vegas, NV - March 10, 2013 - Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com) today announced the launch of new and enhanced five-port iConverter GM4 Network Interface Devices (NID) with G.8032v2 ring protection and 1588v2 synchronization. The GM4 can be deployed as a demarcation device at a cell tower, multi-tenant customer premises or as an aggregation device at a hub location.
The iConverter GM4 features G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) and hardware-based fault detection OAM with sub-50ms failover. The GM4 supports multiple rings and a sub-ring Ethernet service protection for metro and mobile backhaul networks. The GM4 also features 1588v2 synchronization that enables delivery of highly accurate time and frequency information over the packet network.

Network Interface Devices are among the first group of MEF CE 2.0 Certified Compliant products
San Diego, CA – January 30, 2013 - Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com) a provider of Carrier Ethernet demarcation devices, today announced that iConverter® Network Interface Devices (NIDs) are certified compliant to deliver Carrier Ethernet 2.0 services. The Metro Ethernet Forum’s Carrier Ethernet 2.0 certification was provided by Iometrix, the official MEF certification test lab, where iConverter NIDs achieved accreditation for CE 2.0 by passing hundreds of exacting test cases.

Omnitron Announces Industry’s First NID with DPoE Automatic Provisioning
SCTE CableTec Expo, Orlando – October 16, 2012 - Omnitron Systems, (www.omnitron-systems.com) today announced the successful completion of lab trials using its iConverter® GM4 Network Interface Demarcation Device supporting the DEMARC Auto-Configuration (DAC) process. Defined by the CableLabs® DOCSIS Provisioning of EPON (DPoE™) DEMARC specification, the DAC process allows DEMARC devices to be automatically provisioned, enabling Carrier Ethernet services over the DPoE network. Omnitron’s successful lab trials were conducted with a major Cable MSO and demonstrated how automating provisioning shortens deployment time and reduces operational costs.

Omnitron Announces Low-Cost PoE Distance Extension
BICSI Fall Conference, Anaheim CA – September 17, 2012 – Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com) a leading provider of fiber optic connectivity products, today launched the low-cost OmniConverter TM GPoE/SE Gigabit Ethernet media converter with Power over Ethernet (PoE). The compact OmniConverter GPoE/SE converts 1000BASE-X fiber to 10/100/1000 UTP and functions as Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) by injecting PoE through the RJ-45 port.

Omnitron Successfully Demonstrates Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Interoperability
Carrier Ethernet World Congress, Barcelona – September 17, 2012-Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com) a provider of Carrier Ethernet demarcation devices, today announced its success in demonstrating at the multi-vendor Interoperability Showcase organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC). The results of the Interoperability Showcase will be presented at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress (CEWC) 2012 in Barcelona and Carrier Ethernet APAC in Hong Kong.
