The iConverter HybridNID clearly defines the service responsibilities between the Service Provider and the Wholesale Operator. The Wholesale Operator owns, installs, manages and maintains the iConverter HybridNID, which is part of the Wholesale Access Service that is leased by the Service Provider. The Service Provider also has management access to provision the service attributes. Both the Wholesale Operator and Service Provider can monitor Service OAM functions.

OmniConverter PoE and PoE+ Media ConvertersThe OmniConverter is a multi-port PoE media converter that provides UTP to fiber conversion and injects Power-over-Ethernet (PoE and POE+) via the RJ-45 port(s). OmniConverter media converters are available in 10/100BASE-T UTP to 100BASE-FX Fiber or 10/100/1000BASE-T UTP to 1000BASE-X or 100BASE-FX. A variety of port configurations are available, including single or dual SFP and dual RJ-45 ports, with PoE or PoE+ on both UTP ports.

iConverter T1/E1 MUXThe iConverter T1/E1 MUX multiplexes up to sixteen T1 or E1 circuits and one 10/100/1000 Ethernet service onto a fiber optic link. The transmission of the multiplexed traffic is extended over a fiber pair or single fiber link.

The iConverter T1/E1 MUXes operate in a back-to-back configuration, and can be used in applications such as multiple T1/E1 extension, mobile backhaul and building-to-building PBX connectivity.

iConverter GM3 Network Interface DevicesThe iConverter GM3 is a flexible and cost-effective Network Interface Device (NID) that provides demarcation functions for in franchise and out-of-franchise Ethernet service applications with Service Mapping, Traffic Policing and Shaping. The GM3 conforms to the latest carrier-class Ethernet OAM standards. The 802.1ag Service OAM provides end-to-end Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) and performance monitoring. These OAM features provide the efficient detection and rapid isolation of potential service problems enabling Service Level Agreement assurance while reducing Operational costs of maintaining the network.


The GM3 is available as a compact standalone unit or as a chassis plug-in module. The hot-swappable GM3 plug-in module can be mounted in a high-density 19 or 5-Module chassis with any combination of redundant AC and DC power supplies. It can also be mounted in a 2-Module AC or DC powered chassis, or in a 1-Module chassis with AC or DC power input.
