A special USB power adapter cable allows the miConverter to be powered by a PC's USB or USB 2.0 port, supporting fiber-to-the-desktop deployment without the need of an electrical outlet. The miConverter is also available with an external AC power supply, and is available in US or a variety of International models. The International model features optional inter changeable connectors for compatibility with the different electrical outlets found around the world.

The miConverter Plug-and-Play capability ensures compatibility with network equipment and simplifies fiber-to-the-desktop deployment. It is available in multi-mode dual fiber, single-mode dual fiber and single-mode single-fiber options.

miConverter is ideal for connecting large numbers of workstations in unmanaged fiber-to-the desktop Enterprise network applications. These applications can include remote edge locations where power outlets are at a premium, such as portable, temporary facilities. The miConverter is also an excellent solution for construction and military fiber-to-the-laptop applications where fiber connectivity is required and local power is not available.
