Omnitron media converters are used extensively in government, military and education networks where copper to fiber, dual fiber to single fiber, multimode to single-mode fiber or cwdm wavelength conversions are required. Omnitron's managed and unmanaged fiber conversion products support a wide variety of protocols, data rates and media types to create a more reliable and cost-effective network. iConverter Managed Media Converters
iConverter media converters provide next-generation fiber connectivity in Government, Military and Education networks. iConverter's are used to distribute high-density, managed fiber links from the Network Core to intelligent media converters that provide secure network access demarcation with copper and fiber ports at the Network Edge.

- Serial RS-232, RS-422/485 and X21
iConverter media converters can be managed or unmanaged. When managed, the iConverter management system provides the ability to remotely monitor network status, configure hardware parameters, generate statistic reports and receive a variety of user-specified traps.
