Mission Critical Redundant Links Application

Mission critical network connections to user groups, servers or switches to the network can be protected using redundant copper or fiber links with rapid response time switching recovery.

At the network core shown at the top of the illustration, a single UTP port from a core switch is converted to redundant fiber links with an iConverter Tx/2Fx redundant media converter. The redundant links travel diverse paths to an iConverter Tx/2Fx redundant media converter installed in a 1-Module chassis at the other end of the critical network link connects to a departmental switch.

If one fiber connection in the redundant pair breaks or fails, the standby link automatically takes over in less than 100 microseconds.
