1000BASE-T UTP to 1000BASE-X Fiber

In this application example, gigabit media converters are installed in a Redundant Power chassis for high-density fiber distribution from UTP switch equipment at the Network Core. Ethernet switches (A & B) are connected directly via fiber to the gigabit module at the Network Core. This application provides the copper-to-fiber conversion to connect multiple fiber uplinks to the core switch. In all cases, multimode or single-mode fiber can be used, and fiber links can be extended up to 80km using single-mode fiber.

NOTE: iConverter 19-Module Chassis is shown in this application diagram. A FlexPoint unmangaed 14-Module chassis can also be used.
