FOSE, Washington, DC – May 2, 2008 – Omnitron Systems Technology, a provider of fiber optic access systems for next-generation optical Ethernet networks, today announced new extended temperature ranges for its popular iConverter family of intelligent media converters and Network Interface Devices (NIDs). iConverter products now support a wide temperature range of -40º to +60º Celsius for mission-critical reliability in harsh temperature environments, and select products support an extended temperature range of -40º to +75º Celsius.

The iConverter family includes copper-to-fiber and fiber-to-fiber media converters that support 10/100/1000 Ethernet, T1/E1, T3/E3, OC3, OC12 and serial network protocols. iConverters are available as standalone units and chassis plug in modules that can be installed in a high-density 19-module chassis, and a variety of compact chassis for Customer Premises and Network Edge applications. All iConverter chassis support the Wide Temperature range.

“iConverter modules and chassis are fully tested in our laboratory temperature chambers to ensure robust and reliable operation,” said Doug Baar, Vice President of Engineering for Omnitron. “The new temperature ranges are designed to meet the needs of our clients with enclosures in extreme environments, IP camera surveillance, manufacturing and industrial Ethernet applications.”

All iConverter products are covered by a lifetime warranty and 24/7 technical support with no service contract fees.
